Russian lieutenant-general
Zakhar Olsufiev
Russia 24 March 1772 – 20 March 1835
In 1814: Commander of the Russian IX Corps
Olsufiev had been censured after Brienne and La Rothière, so he chose to stand and fight at Champaubert with about 4,000 men and no cavalry. His corps was destroyed and he was captured. That evening he dined at Napoleon’s table as a prisoner.
